
Excellence in Conservation and Stewardship of Alaska’s Wildlife Resources
The Alaska Chapter was founded in 1971. It is one of 56 chapters of The Wildlife Society, an international nonprofit organization of professional wildlife biologists dedicated to excellence in wildlife stewardship through science and education. The Alaska Chapter is one of the largest in the country with over 200 members who work for state and federal agencies, academic institutions, non-governmental organizations, and private industry.

The Alaska Chapter of The Wildlife Society actively promotes the conservation of wildlife and their habitats through educational outreach and the production of technical reviews and position papers.
